The studio is conceived as a retreat from the surroundings, a quiet, natural space for the practice of yoga. Utilizing natural wood, brick, bamboo, cork, and slate, the spaces are grounded in natural materials, and enhanced by natural daylight. The existing building envelope has been rehabilitated with sustainable practices in mind- extra insulation, efficient HVAC systems, and elimination of water infiltration. The finished spaces are uncluttered and open, and seek to reinforce a sense of calm.
