On a steeply sloping, redwood covered hillside in Northern California's wine county, this private residence is designed in harmony with the landscape. The various pavilions are arranged to frame the sweeping vistas of the valley below. Consisting of a main house, library pavilion, and guest quarters, the arrangement of low structures in an open formation reduces the perceived building mass, in deference to the formidable natural surroundings of hills, forest and open sky.
